Lisa discussed some of the free online resources listed below, as well as expertise and resources available from both the MPFT Library and Knowledge Services and your local public library.
The presentation also highlighted research from the Society of Readers that demonstrated how reading can “ward off loneliness… books can also give groups a way to talk through their thoughts and feelings in an indirect way… Books have also been shown to be beneficial in supporting mental and physical health. Reading significantly improves common symptoms of both depression and dementia. Reading keeps the mind active, which may even delay the onset of dementia”
